Thank you so much for all your support we exceeded our £15,000 donation target during the Christmas Challenge week and overall all with Gift Aid and Match Funds we will have raised £38,500 to enable us to complete the work in the first floor flat and also to have some money left over to finish the garden area. We expect to start this work with Bristol Together in January and it will help us give construction skills and mentoring to at least 4 ex-offenders. Brilliant work!

We will keep our blog updated as things progress.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is now LIVE!!  Donate online any time between now and 12.00 noon on Tuesday 5th December and your money will be doubled!

The donation must be made online, following the link below:

…  if you are interested in supporting 2 great causes for the cost of supporting 1 and even better interested in having the money that you give doubled by someone else, as well able to be Gift Aided (if you are eligible), then please do read on.

We are working with Bristol Together who train and mentor ex-offenders in construction skills to refurbish the old caretaker’s flat at our new premises in Elm Park, Filton to change it into counselling support spaces and training areas for Network Counselling and Training. We are looking to start on site soon and have this completed before the end of January 2018.

This project, that will directly benefit individual ex-offenders working through Bristol Together and also those who come to Network for Counselling and Training, has been accepted by The Big Give Christmas Challenge and we have match funding from The Reed Foundation and some other generous individuals such that, provided we raise £15,000 online between midday on 28th November and midday 5th December, the money raised will be doubled by the match funders.

In simple terms if you give £10 and it was gift aided we would get £22-67! This includes for a small administration fee by the Big Give that is similar to all the other online giving sites.

You must only donate online between midday 28th November and midday 5th December for the money to be doubled.

A great evening of good company, a great curry, dancing, a quiz and plenty of nostalgia with great music supplied by Malcolm. Overall we raised £800 which will be split between Network Counselling and Training and Bristol Hospitality Network who cooked for us.

‘When can we do this again?’ was what most people asked … well we hope to do something similar once we have moved into our new premises in Elm Park, Filton early in 2018 so watch this space.

Julie, Kay, Ken, Kim, Louise and Sue walked past all the places that Network Counselling and Training has been based at over the last 31 years … a real walk of history the ups and downs, the challenges and encouragements of the journey that Network has been on. Eventually they arrived at Elm Park, which is being remodelled and extended to be the new permanent home of Network. Together they raised over £2,000 which is brilliant work by all 6 of them.

On Saturday 16th September Julie, Kay, Kim, Ken, Louise and Sue all set off from 31A College Green to walk ‘Network’s Journey’ around all the locations that we have been based in Bristol and to end up at Elm Park in Filton the location of our new premises that we will move into in January. The photo on the right shows them before they set off standing outside of Swoon Gelato which back in 1986 when Network was based in the rooms above the shop it was Bernard Thorpe’s Estate Agents. If you would like to sponsor them then please click here.

… a celebration/fundraising event being hosted jointly by Network Counselling and Training and Bristol Hospitality Network.

The evening kicks off at 6.30pm and will include a meal (a tasty and fragrant – but not hot! – curry) served by the Bristol Hospitality Network team at 7.30pm. Bring your own drinks and glasses! Other attractions include music and dancing (a 1970’s and 80’s style disco), a quiz and a silent auction. Why not book a table and come with some friends?

The fun will be taking place at the Hall at St Peter’s Church, Filton and all monies raised will go towards funding Network’s new premises in Elm Park, Filton, and to supporting BHN in their work with refugees and asylum seekers.

Tickets cost £12.50 per person, and are available from Network Counselling & Training. Send us a message or email training@network.org.uk – numbers are limited so don’t leave it too late!
