Being there in a time of crisis
Across society our mental health is meeting with varied challenges at the moment. Fear, uncertainty, loss of income, loss of social supports and isolation, being kept indoors, and bereavement or fear of bereavement – a combination of all these factors is causing anxiety, depression and relationship breakdown for the first time for some people, and exacerbating underlying vulnerability in others.
At Network we know that the need for accessible counselling is as urgent as ever. We also know that for the 75% of our clients on low incomes, this quality support would be out of reach without our services.
As a charity we rely on the generosity of individuals, Churches, companies and Trusts and Foundations to continue to offer affordable to counselling to all, regardless of background or ability to pay. It costs £32 to provide a counselling session, and whilst clients contribute what they can, the average contribution is £15.
Our work can be life changing, and we also know that for some it is life saving.
“In the beginning never in a million years would I have been able to say that I love myself and now I feel like I can say that, and being kind to myself, being aware; lots and lots of things that I wasn’t doing or wasn’t able to do before, and it’s only through this whole process that it’s become possible.”
