Understanding Eating Disorders
This one-day workshop uses the ‘iceberg theory’ – looking below the surface to understand the deeper issues of anorexia, bulimia, compulsive eating and related disorders.
It looks at eating disorders in the context of self-harm and helps those working with sufferers to enter the internal world of a person with an eating disorder – looking beyond the symptoms to address complex behavioural patterns, entrenched mindsets and loss of identity and self-worth.
The workshop is led by Helena Wilkinson, author and international speaker, who has with 25 years experience working with sufferers. She lectures internationally on eating disorders, self-harm, bullying and related subjects, and is the author of 11 books.
