Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions can I have?
Network offers a block of 12 counselling sessions with the option to extend up to a maximum of 24 sessions in total, if both client and counsellor agree this is appropriate.
How much does it cost?
Due to inflation and the current economic climate, unfortunately our standard cost of counselling is having to increase:
– £22.50 per session before October 1st 2023
– £25.00 per session after October 1st 2023
This is around half the average price of counselling in Bristol. We can do this thanks to our generous charitable supporters, and because sessions are provided by trainee counsellors as part of their advanced course.
Who can receive counselling?
Potential clients must be adults aged 18 or over. You will need to apply directly with us, rather than through a support worker or carer. We see clients who live either in Bristol or in the surrounding area.
We welcome all applications. We decide, on an individual basis, whether our service is able to meet your current needs.
Are counselling sessions ‘in person’ or online?
Most of our sessions are offered in person at our building in Filton. We do offer some online sessions where necessary, but you may have longer to wait to have online session as there are fewer available.
Where is Network Counselling? Is it easily accessible?
Our offices are at Network Counselling, Elm Park, Filton, BS34 7PS. We are situated a short walk from Gloucester Road (A38) which is well served with buses and we are easily accessible by car, bicycle, Voi electric scooter and by foot. We have a small car park or there is plenty of parking on the road nearby, and we have places to lock your bicycle up securely.
What if I arrive early?
If you arrive early for your session you are welcome to come in and sit in our waiting room, or take a stroll around the park at the end of the street.
