Open Evenings

Are you interested in a career in counselling?  Why not come along to one of our Open Evenings, see our new premises and find out more? An Open Evening for the Advanced Certificate course will be held on Tuesday 6th March and the Diploma course on Thursday 15th March, starting at 7.30pm. Contact the Training Department to find out more.

Why not get more involved in the future of Network Counselling and Training. Our AGM will be held on 25th January 2018 at our new premises at Elm Park, Filton BS34 7PS.  Notice of AGM Jan 2018

Great news … Persimmon Homes Community Champions have agreed to donate £1,000 to help us provide affordable counselling sessions. www.persimmonhomes.com

Anne Duke with Elizabeth Gregory, Rector at St Peters Church, Filton, being presented with a cheque for £2,000 from the Andrews Charitable Trust to set up and run a listening project.  Network will be supporting the church and delivering Listening Training for ‘Listening Ear volunteers’ in February 2018.

Every vote counts. So why not register or log-in to vote for our project at the Aviva Community Fund and help us raise up to £10,000 by winning.

A great evening of good company, a great curry, dancing, a quiz and plenty of nostalgia with great music supplied by Malcolm. Overall we raised £800 which will be split between Network Counselling and Training and Bristol Hospitality Network who cooked for us.

‘When can we do this again?’ was what most people asked … well we hope to do something similar once we have moved into our new premises in Elm Park, Filton early in 2018 so watch this space.

Julie, Kay, Ken, Kim, Louise and Sue walked past all the places that Network Counselling and Training has been based at over the last 31 years … a real walk of history the ups and downs, the challenges and encouragements of the journey that Network has been on. Eventually they arrived at Elm Park, which is being remodelled and extended to be the new permanent home of Network. Together they raised over £2,000 which is brilliant work by all 6 of them.

On Saturday 16th September Julie, Kay, Kim, Ken, Louise and Sue all set off from 31A College Green to walk ‘Network’s Journey’ around all the locations that we have been based in Bristol and to end up at Elm Park in Filton the location of our new premises that we will move into in January. The photo on the right shows them before they set off standing outside of Swoon Gelato which back in 1986 when Network was based in the rooms above the shop it was Bernard Thorpe’s Estate Agents. If you would like to sponsor them then please click here.

… a celebration/fundraising event being hosted jointly by Network Counselling and Training and Bristol Hospitality Network.

The evening kicks off at 6.30pm and will include a meal (a tasty and fragrant – but not hot! – curry) served by the Bristol Hospitality Network team at 7.30pm. Bring your own drinks and glasses! Other attractions include music and dancing (a 1970’s and 80’s style disco), a quiz and a silent auction. Why not book a table and come with some friends?

The fun will be taking place at the Hall at St Peter’s Church, Filton and all monies raised will go towards funding Network’s new premises in Elm Park, Filton, and to supporting BHN in their work with refugees and asylum seekers.

Tickets cost £12.50 per person, and are available from Network Counselling & Training. Send us a message or email training@network.org.uk – numbers are limited so don’t leave it too late!

On 17th September one of our current Diploma students is running in the Bristol Half Marathon, undertaking a personal challenge and raising funds for Network at the same time! Please take a moment to visit her fundraising page, and support and contribute if you can. Every single donation will be appreciated and valued.
